Pre-Workout and Post-Workout Skincare Routine
You can keep your skin healthy and glowing by following a few simple pre-workout and post-workout skincare tips.
1. Before you Break a Sweat, Wash Your Face
Your pores can become clogged from makeup, dirt, oil, buildup, and sweat. Combining sweat and debris can lead to a variety of breakouts including whiteheads and blackheads.
It is important to wash your face regularly, regardless of whether you are wearing makeup. Use a mild cleanser before you start your workout.
2. Keep Your Fingers Off of Your Face
Your pores become wide open when you sweat. This makes your skin an inviting environment for bacteria, dirt, and oil.
Use a towel to wipe away any sweat that may be dripping from your face after a spin class.
3. Wash Your Face Once More After Done
This is an essential one. You should never leave sweat on your skin for longer than necessary. It can attract bacteria and dead skin cells to your pores. Any residue left behind from a workout can be removed by washing your face right away.
To thoroughly clean and remove any oil, sweat, or debris from your pores, use a mild facial cleanser. Exfoliating and facial scrubs after a gym session are not recommended. They can cause more harm than good.
Your skin after a workout is delicate and more prone to micro-abrasions. Instead, use a gentle cleanser to clean your skin.
4. Avoid Body Breakouts
Exercising can cause excessive sweating and buildups of oil, dirt and bacteria on the skin. This can all lead to acne. Clear skin doesn’t have to be lost. After a sweaty workout, it is advisable to shower immediately.
This will help remove acne-causing bacteria as well as prevent clogged pores. Although it is the best way of getting rid of all the grime and bacteria that has built up after sweating, sometimes this is not possible.
5. Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate
Drinking water is a great way to rid your body of toxins, impurities, and sweating during exercise. It also strips your skin of its natural oils, moisture, and leaves it dry and dehydrated.
Dry skin can lead to pores becoming clogged by dead skin cells. After cleansing, moisturize your skin with a light moisturizer.
6. Change Out of Sweaty Clothes
Although sports bras and leggings are great for yoga or spinning, they can be a problem for your skin.
The majority of tight clothing isn’t breathable and can trap oil and dead skin for hours. This could lead to a breakout. After working out, you should get rid of tight clothes.
7. Your Hair Should Not Touch Your Face
Keep your hair pulled back if you have long hair. This will prevent hair oils and hair products from clogging pores, which can lead to breakouts.
Keep in mind, however, that headbands are not only effective at keeping oil, sweat, product residue, and product residue from your face, but they can trap sweat that may contain acne-inducing ingredients on your forehead.
